According to Toyota South Africa, the Fortuner and Hilux will be available with mild hybrid powertrains from launch.

The SUV pair, which is expected to make its debut in the entire world in 2024

may be supported by the automaker's TNGA platform and may potentially enter the Indian market. 

Although Toyota has not released the engine details, diesel-hybrid engines are anticipated

Currently, a 2.8-liter diesel engine powers the Fortuner and Hilux made for India.

Both SUVs are available with 4x4 configuration, manual and automatic gears, and both. 

Furthermore, it's expected that the hybrid versions will switch the brand's high-end vehicles

such the Lexus LX 300d, from the present IMV platform to the new TNGA-F platform.
